Cashier Duties
• Assist customers quickly and courteously
• Ability to use a cash register (point of sale (POS) system), computer, telephone, and other equipment as
needed.
• Process transactions efficiently to insure minimal register lines
• Handle cash, checks, credit cards, gift cards and coupons using the register.
• Assist customers with sales, returns, exchanges, credits, charges, rain checks, and assures the completion of
all POS transactions and the proper control of all cash according to company policies and procedures.
• Help the team to keep the checkout area organized, clean and fully stocked. Ensure the checkout area is free
of litter and spills and that all equipment is sanitized and free of dirt, as well as ensuring that all equipment is
in working condition.
